  • What is Anti-Microbial?
An Antimicrobial is an agent that kills microorganisms or stops their growth. SmartCoat contains antimicrobial which lasts up to 365 Days upon application.
  • What is an Anti-Microbial Coating?
Antimicrobial coatings use solutions to hinder the growth of pathogens through cellular membrane perturbation. In layman terms, an antimicrobial coating is an application of an agent on a surface that can stop the growth of disease-causing micro-organisms. Apart from increasing the surface’s durability, appearance, corrosion resistance, etc., these coatings also protect from harmful disease-causing microbes.
  • Why use 'SmartCoat' instead of other traditional disinfection methods?
Normal disinfection will only provide protection until a surface has been compromised by touch. With SmartCoat, a treated surface will be protected against viruses and bacteria for up to 365 days from treatment.
  • Will regularly cleaning a treated surface remove SmartCoat?
No! Regular routine cleaning will even enhance and optimise the efficacy of the treatment ensuring that the ongoing self-disinfecting potential remains at maximum efficacy up to 365 days.
  • Can we reduce cleaning after applying SmartCoat?
The frequency of cleaning may be reduced as Smartcoat’s Coating provides a protective layer with self-disinfecting anti-microbial properties. However, we would still encourage routine cleaning in environments with high human traffic.
  • Are there any disinfectants restriction with much stronger concentration that might destroy SmartCoat's Coating?
There are no restrictions as to what kind of disinfectants you may use. In fact, daily cleaning can increase the efficacy of SmartCoat.
  • What preparation is necessary prior to applying the treatment?
SmartCoat should be applied to clean, dry surfaces for optimal efficacy.
  • How to do we maintain SmartCoat after application?
SmartCoat has multifunctioning effects of: • Self-Sanitizing • Self-Deodorizing • VOCs elimination • Anti-mold/fungus • Self-Cleaning • Air Purifying Smartcoat is 4 times the thickness of a regular car paint. With this and the above effects in place, as long as it is not being painted over, covered and damaged by deliberate intense polishing and scrubbing, it will last for 12 months.
  • What are the threats that SmartCoat can eliminate effectively?
Smartcoat kills all pathogenic organisms (bacteria, viruses, moulds, yeasts and fungi) It continuously eliminates 99.99% of such pathogenic organisms, immediately on contact 24/7/365.
  • What is the difference between SmartCoat and other anti-microbial solutions in the market?
There are two main differences that make ‘SmartCoat’ stand out from the other competitors Firstly, it does not contain highly corrosive or toxic chemical activity with a very short-term period of efficacy. Smartcoat implements electrostatic technology through the sprayer, when combines with light energy from any light sources will trigger photocatalytic process which destroy pathogenic microorganisms upon contact on the bonded surface. Secondly, traditional disinfectant solutions’ efficacy period is typically only for a short period of time. Whereas the way Smartcoat is being applied allows the coating to bond onto surfaces properly. Hence, it can even remain effective 24/7 up to 365 days.
  • How long does SmartCoat need to be exposed to light in order to activate the photocatalytic process?
    This is an immediate process.
  • In places where lights will be off in the night and photocatalytic process cannot take place, will SmartCoat's efficacy fall over time?"
No, the efficacy will not fall off.
  • How do I know SmartCoat's treatment process is safe?
Our treatment contains neither corrosive nor toxic substances and we are fully certified safe to use in any area.
  • Does SmartCoat have any adverse impact on the environment?
No! In fact, the photocatalytic process of SmartCoat breaks down pollutants into harmless H20 and CO2 ion, which will in turn improve indoor air quality and hygiene.
